The Herb Garden

Here we have a "1970's" Fender Stratocaster with the large headstock.
It has been stripped and crudely re-finished with varnish over natural wood.
It was re-fretted and set up by Joe White in late 2005.

Neck (and maybe body)

3 bolt makes it 1971 or after.
Serial numbers were moved from neck plate in 1976 so this example is from before 1976.
Neck plate serial 356043 makes it between 1971 and 1973
Double string tree after early 1972
Feb 72 written inside guitar
Body by: Chambers
Neck by: J Torres (B type)
Original Colour: Sunburst
So... neck and neck hardware etc definitely early 1972

Electrics

Late 1974 all pickups were single height.
Black pickguard and knobs after 1975.
5 position switch after 1977.
Internal serial: S915740 makes it 1979

So, in summary, we seem to have a bitza-caster; neck (and probably body) from early 1972 and electrics from around 1979.
